Villa Carmen underwent renovations in early 2023, and the suite-like rooms have been available for rent since September 1st, 2023. I, Enrique, work at the University of the Basque Country, while my wife, Yolanda, is employed in the private sector. We both reside on the ground floor of the house and are happy to assist you during your stay at Villa Carmen. The entrance to the upper part of the villa, where the mid-term rental rooms are located, is completely independent, ensuring your privacy.

At Villa Carmen, you can expect a peaceful environment, conveniently close to San Sebastian's city center and the beach. The property has over 1000 sqm with beautiful views of the sea and the city, especially from the top floor where the room Tximistarri is located and available for rent. The villa also offers a 100 sqm south-facing patio and a 20 sqm terrace with city and sea views to be enjoyed by the tenants. The laundry room is located inside the property but outside the villa. Common areas will be cleaned daily whereas the private rooms should be cleaned by the tenants. We strive to maintain a serene atmosphere, ideal for individuals on mid to long-term work or study stays, and we kindly request our tenants to understand and respect this ambiance.

I am a dedicated physicist and a principal researcher at the University of the Basque Country. I enjoy discussing science and football, as I am a passionate fan of the local football team, Real Sociedad. Additionally, I have a love for hiking and swimming and am intimately familiar with the Pyrenees, and I will be happy to recommend the best hikes in the Gipuzkoa area. As an amateur swimmer, I have participated in several open-water races in the Cantabric Sea, so I can offer valuable insights into the best locations in the vicinity.

Yolanda works as a sales representative in the private sector, but her true passion lies in painting and crafting. You may have the opportunity to admire some of her paintings at Villa Carmen, and if not, don't hesitate to ask her to share her artistic creations with you. Yolanda has also meticulously refurbished some of the furniture in Villa Carmen, transforming second-hand pieces into beautifully restored items. Sailing is another of her interests, and she is part of a sailing team that competes in sailing races. Furthermore, Yolanda possesses extensive knowledge of the local gastronomy and can recommend the finest restaurants in San Sebastian and the surrounding area, should you seek an exceptional Basque cuisine experience.

Yolanda and I have two daughters who live abroad and visit us during the summer and Christmas, so you may have the chance to meet them during these periods.
