Quinta Mãe dos Homens Garden Village is a small family run business and I, the daughter of the owner – Mrs Teresa Gedge – have been managing this self-catering resort, located inside the grounds of our family home since 1998, happily receiving visitors from all over the world. Our Quinta is known for its stunning views and gardens with exotic flowers and tropical fruit trees, that provide a lovely refuge to rest, work and live with privacy and serenity. As it is located on a hillside it is far away enough from Funchal’s hustle and bustle yet close enough to the historical centre (only a 10 minute walk down the hill) for you to make the most of your stay and explore the unique history and beauty of our city and island. Also, for great delight of our guests, in 1992 we gave away part of our agricultural fields to build a beautiful swimming pool, as well a clubhouse and communal terrace with wifi coverage, where you can work, rest and meet with other guests. Part of our family lives in the main house and over the years we have had many repeated guests who fell in love with the Quinta and became true friends. It is our hope that as so many others, you will enjoy your stay, not just for the natural beauty but also for the rich history of our home, as well as all the friendly faces you will meet here. We are happy to open our doors to all those who are looking for a quiet home-like accommodation and we will do our best to make you feel at home and to meet all your personal needs and requests. Hope to see you soon! 😊 Sincerely, Marina Huber
